According to China’s official customs data said on Wednesday, China’s steel exports in January dropped 40 percent on the month to 1.91 million tons, which reached the lowest in nearly 3 years.
Exports were also down by 54 percent on year-on year basis. Also, iron ore imports in January were down by 5 percent to 32.65 million tons from last December, but were 11 percent down on year-on-year basis.
The customs data also shows that China imported 13,000 tons of steel billets in January which was 90.7 percent increase compared to the same month last year. Source: Yieh.com
