Steel billet prices reach USD 620 FOB mark at Black Sea - 27 Dec 10

It is reported that the price increase is continuing on the market amid limited availability of material and good demand.
Billet quotations increased by another USD 10 per tonne to USD 20 per tonne.
It seems that as producers are already well booked for January, the situation is permitting them to hike their offering up to USD 620 per tonne FOB ST Black Sea.
Similar situation is seen at Turkey for both imports and exports of steel billets
Import - CFR Turkey
The prices have jumped up by USD 5 per tonne to reach USD 600 per tonne to USD 620 per tonne on December 24th 2010 as compared to USD 595 per tonne to USD 615 per tonne on December 17th 2010.

USD 620 per tonne FOB is the highest post crisis level, which was also seen in mid April of 2010, after which the prices had tumbled to reach recent low of USD 410 by June end.
