After the holidays billet prices have remained buoyant having gained by USD 5 per tonne to USD 10 per tonne, reaching USD 580 per tonne FOB.
However, transaction levels prevail at about USD 575 per tonne FOB.
At the same time, CIS semis suppliers quote their material at USD 585 per tonne to USD 590 per tonne CFR up by USD 5 per tonne over a fortnight.
But transactions are sparse as domestic mills are competitive with import offers.
