Billet
Billet price didn’t change last week in Iran. During the week, billet size 150 mm was priced at USD680/mt fot Anzali port in northern part of Iran.
As long products prices are downward and billet supply is increasing, coupled with current holidays in Iran, it’s likely that billet price will fall during coming weeks. Billet was being offered at Anzali and Imam Khomeini ports during the week but limited transactions were done.
In import market, 150 mm billet is offered for USD630/mt cfr Anzali port by CIS suppliers.
Long products
Long products prices were falling slowly during last week. Demand was so limited and no buyer in the market.
Supply level of billet and sections was high last week and traders very pessimistic about the future, so they prefer to decrease their inventory to the lowest level.
Sections market is silent in Iran and demand level so scarce. By the beginning of the week debar price was falling and finished the week at USD815/mt. I-beam price dropped around USD2-5/mt per day. Equal angle price decreased around USD15/mt during the week but UNP price was almost stable.
Import offer price of debar didn’t changed compared to a week ago and was about USD650-660/mt cfr Imam Khomeini Port depending on the origin.
Flat products
Flat products market experienced one of its silent weeks in Iran. 2 mm hot rolled coil priced at USD680/mt fot Anzali Port at the beginning of the week, finished the week at USD689/mt. But this price fluctuation was mostly due to speculations not any rise in demand. As sections prices are falling and construction activities have decreased, HRC price would be falling too. Though Mobarake Steel 2.5 mm up HRC decreased around USD5-10/mt during last week.
CRC and HDG market are facing shortage of demand despite falling trend of import level during last months and limited supply of some sizes. If prices in global market don’t change, flat products prices in Iran will fall due to lack of demand. Some participants believe prices have reached the bottom and CRC and HDG price should increase.
Demand in import market is so limited and CIS suppliers are offering 2 mm HRC at USD640/mt cfr Anzali Port, CRC at USD750/mt and HDG at USD860/mt cfr .
