Rusmet cited Mr Igor Vlasenko head of Far-East Customs authority as saying that All Far-East scrap metals from now on will go to domestic market. The order of the Federal Customs Service made scrap export from Primorye impossible.

He assumed that this decision was made by the Federal Customs Service to fill domestic scrap metals market.

As earlier reported, the Federal Customs Service by a special order determined Petropavlovsk-kamchatskiy only as a place for declaring ferrous metals scrap going for export through Far-East region sea ports. It is disadvantageous for scrap export from Khabarovsk and Primorskiy regions.

Mr Vlasenko said that local mills need scrap but it is bought by Chinese companies at higher price.
