Iran National Steel Industrial group (INSIG) direct manager Abdoulreza Rasuli announced that the company has started establishment of Second phase of its new steel mill. This phase will be finished and start operating after 14-18 months.
First phase of INSIG Steel plant is able to produce 400.000 tones of steel melting per year, after finishing second phase it will increase to 800.000 t/y.
The mill under construction will produce billet and supply 80 % of INSIG billet needs. Khuzestan Steel would supply the rest and INSIG will not need import billet for re-rolling.
