Iran iron ore output rise by 6% - 11 Aug 10

Around 8.848 mt iron ore produced in Iran during the four months ending in 22 July which is 6% higher than the same period last year. During the same period, production of coking coal concentrate hit 0.322 mt.

According to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), mining of iron ore in the country in the same period increased by 25% to 13.687 mt.

Chadormalou with the production of 3.142 mt iron ore is the biggest iron ore producer in Iran which is followed by Gole Gohar by production of 2.493 mt and Markazi Iron Ore with 2.044 mt.

During the same period, about 1.248 mt of Iron ore with the value of US$115 million was exported which is up by 20% and 77% Y-o-Y consecutively.

Kerman coking coal company by producing 0.182 mt coking coal concentrate and 0.255 mt coal is the countries biggest coal producer.
