It's reported that a German company is working on several investment projects near Basra.
Talks with local officials are ongoing and the project is set to include cargo quays in the port of Umm Qasr and a plant to manufacture oil pipelines as well as other investments in the port of Khur Al Zubair.
Basra ,the oil rich port city in Irag, is the country's only outlet to waterways, lies 590 kilometers south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
