Kardemir, an integrated long products producer in Turkey, reported
that it had a net loss of 418.2 million liras in the first three quarters of
this year, compared to a net profit of 199 million liras in the same period
last year.
During the period, the firm’s turnover rose by 5.17 billion liras year on year.
Crude steel production reached nearly 1.9 million tons, a year-on-year increase
of 13.2%. The sales volume of finished products hiked by 6.4% year on year to
roughly 1.8 million tons, mainly due to the strong demand in the domestic
market.
