Billet
Average price of billet in domestic market on last
Saturday was USD 408 /mt and increased to USD 433 /mt ex-work including 9% VAT by
Wednesday. Billet price at IME, which was sold at an average of USD 354 /mt a
week ago, increased to USD 396/mt by Wednesday, which means a 12% increase at
IME.
Billet price rose in Iran domestic market due
to:
1- Rising ex-rate, which had an upward trend
during the week
2- Higher billet price in global markets
3- Limited DRI supply level and its upward price
which its base price rose from USD184/mt to USD208 /mt ex-work excluding VAT.
Long Products
Average price of
rebar sold at IME rose from USD 413/mt to
USD 419 / mt ex-work including 9% VAT as billet price also
rose. In retail market also price was up from USD 439 /mt to USD 477 /mt ex-work including 9% VAT. This trend was also seen in I-beam
market. Its average price at IME rose from USD 437 /mt to USD 471 /mt. I-beam production has decreased in
last Iranian month (22 Jul-21 Aug) compared to a month ago, but its export
level has increased. In retail market, average price of I-beam, which was USD 557
/mt for sizes 14 to 18 on Saturday, increased to USD 583 /mt by Wednesday. Large sizes experienced more
price increases.
Flat Products
HRC 2 mm thickness on last
Saturday was USD 739/mt ex-work Esfahan and USD 727 /mt ex-work Ahwaz, which
reached respectively USD 779 /mt and USD 759/mt by end of the week. Mobarakeh Steel co HRC thickness 3-15 mm, which was priced at USD 605 /mt
on last Saturday, reached USD 631/mt by Tuesday. No clear price was announced
on Wednesday.
Oxin co HRP thickness
10-40 mm were priced at USD 594 /mt on last Saturday, but increased to USD 622 /mt
by Wednesday. Higher slab price encouraged the mill to increase its selling
price last week, and this helped market trend. Kavian co HRP was also upward
from USD 525 /mt to USD 546 /mt by end of the week.
CRC thickness 0.40-2.5
mm were priced at USD 977 /mt ex-work including VAT on last Saturday, which
reached USD 1021 /mt by Wednesday. CRC price was affected by exchange rate
fluctuations, while its demand is still limited.
HDG thickness 0.5 to 1.5
mm increased from USD 961/mt to USD 964/mt by Wednesday. Higher HRC price and
upward ex-rate made it upward.
