Tehran Times reported that Iran’s copper wire production factory in Belarus will be inaugurated next week.
As per report, Mr Ali Akbar Mehrabian industries and mines minister of Iran will attend the opening ceremony in Minsk. The project comes on stream at the cost of USD 8 million. Iranian private sector has funded the costs.
The unit is projected to produce 12,000 tonnes of copper wire in the first year which will be raised up to 50,000 tonnes in the second year. The factory’s raw materials will be exported from Iran to Belarus. Once the unit comes on stream the two countries’ trade value will be raised up to USD 500 million per year from the current figure of USD 100 million.
