Iran, one of the leading exporter of semi-finished steel in MENA
region is currently facing economic sanctions from US. US sanctions has badly
affected the export market as many countries has suspended their business with
Iran.Recently Mr. Mohammad Reza Pourebrahimi, Chairman of the Majlis Economic
Committee announced that the Economy Ministry plans to establish an
anti-sanctions office in a bid to counter the latest U.S. economic sanctions
against Iran. The members of the parliamentary committee held a meeting in
Tehran, which was attended by Economy Minister Farhad Dejpasand and some
banking officials.Mr. Pourebrahimi added “The formation of the anti-sanctions
office in the Economy Ministry with the aim of monitoring the American measures
in the banking sector and moves to strengthen banking system was discussed at
the meeting.
Iranian Billet Export Increases by 1% in Current Persian Year
Iran, one of the largest billet exporter in MENA region has
exported 1,806,000 MT billet and bloom during the first seven months of current
Persian year (21-Mar till 22-Oct’18). As per the data released by ISPA, export
of billet during the period increased by 1% against 1,789,000 MT exported
during the same period of last Persian year.Khouzastan Steel Company (KSC) was
the largest exporter of billet and bloom during the period, the company
exported 413,356 MT bloom and 346,780 MT billet in current year, registered a
downfall of 47% and 26% respectively.South Kaveh Steel Company (SKSCO) was the
second largest exporter of billet, the company exported 497,500 MT billet
during the period, registered a growth of 22% Y-o-Y.
Khorasan Steel was the third largest exporter of bloom, the company
exported 90,330 MT during the period.
