Iran, one of the largest billet producer in MENA region has
produced 6,801,000 MT of billet and bloom in first six months of current
Persian year (21 Mar-22 Sep’18). Recently Bardsir Steel Complex, one of the
Sirjan Iran Steel Company steel manufacturing unit, has recently inaugurated
its continuous casting line manufacturing unit.
The operation of continuous casting line was inaugurated by CEO and
team members of MIDHCO and Bardsir steel complex. The steel production line was
inaugurated by the production of billet on Oct’18.
Bardsir Steel Complex has a lot of importance in economic
flourishing and in country's steel production with an annual capacity of 1 MnT.
The sponge iron production unit of the complex with a capacity of 1 MnT was
inaugurated and put into operation earlier this year in Feb’18.
Billet and Bloom Production Increases by 22% Y-o-Y
Iran produced 6,801,000 MT of billet and bloom in first six months
of current Persian year. Production was up by 22% Y-o-Y against 5,563,000 MT
produced by nation in last year.
Khouzestan Steel Company was the largest producer of billet and bloom in
current Persian year, the company produced 1,103,839 MT of billet and bloom
during the period, registered a downfall of 10% Y-o-Y.
Esfahan Steel Company was the second largest producer of billet and
bloom in current Persian year. The company produced 1,123,846 MT bloom in
current Persian year, by registering a downfall of 1% Y-o-Y.
Khorasan Steel was the third largest producer of billet and bloom,
followed by South Kaveh Steel and Chadormalu with production of 502,630 MT
billet, 479,137 MT billet and 433,854 MT.
