Billet
Billet price was downward during last week in Iran.
Average price of billet size 125 & 150 mm dropped from USD 668 /mt to USD 657
/mt ex-work including 9% VAT. By last Sunday, Khouzestan Steel co offered 30,0000
tons of its billet at IME ( Iran Mercantile Exchange). Despite lack of demand
in long products market, demand was firstly 126,000 tones and sold 30,000 tones at USD 594 /mt
ex-work excluding VAT. It seems that long product mills warehouses have been
empty of billet and the purchase was for building inventory. The sold billet
price after VAT would be USD 647 /mt which was not different from other mills
offers.
Billet price is expected to stay at around current price
for a while.
long
products
Long products market
was downward. Mid-week Holiday and market closure made downward trend more
remarkable. Average price of debar diameter 8-32 mm declined from USD 788 /mt
to USD 773 /mt ex-work including 9% VAT. Esfahan Steel co sold 1540 tons of its
debar basket at base price of USD 682 /mt equal to USD 744 /mt ex-work
including VAT.
Average price of
I-beam size 14- 18 from Esfahan Steel co dropped from USD 772 /mt to USD 762
/mt by end of the week.
Generally long
products market was quiet during last week and is not expected to change in
coming days. Everybody is in wait and see mood.
Flat
products
HRC 2 mm thickness
didn’t change significantly during last week. Import price was USD 787 /mt on
truck in Anzali including 9% VAT and custom duty by last Saturday and rose by
USD 2 /mt till Wednesday. But domestic material from Ahwaz is USD 754 /mt
ex-work including VAT. This price gap would satisfy buyers interest in domestic
market.
Average price of HRC
3-15 mm thickness from Mobarakeh Steel co was around USD 736 /mt by beginning of
the week after some declines, rose again to this price again by end of the
week. But in IME, prices were upward as
HRC class B rose by USD 17 /mt compared to a week ago to USD 684.5 /mt ex-work
excluding VAT and HRC class C also rose by USD 25 /mt to be sold at USD 656
/mt.
Oxin co HRP price was stable as average price of thickness 12-40 mm
stayed around USD 755 /mt ex-work including VAT. Some market participants hope
price would rise but demand is low and didn’t let prices improve.
CRC market was downward. Import market is almost stopped as CIS
origin material is unavailable. Average price of CRC thickness 0.40-2.5 mm
dropped from USD 977.5 /mt to USD 967.5 /mt ex-work including VAT but in IME
base price of CRC rose by 4% compared to a month ago. In retail market price
was downward because demand is limited for seasonal reasons but at IME
Mobarakeh Steel co knows that import is stopped and is the only market leader,
so has rose prices.
HDG market was
stable during the week. By Wednesday price rose from USD 1086 /mt to USD 1088
/mt ex-work including VAT due to hot weather and some power stoppage at mills
and limited supply.
