According
to the statistics from Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD),
Turkish crude steel output reached around 16 million tons in the first five
months of this year, an increase of 4.3% compare to same period of 2017.
During this period, Turkish steel exports reached 8.1 million tons, a drop of
3.9% compared to the same period last year. But in terms of value, it surged by
20.2% to US$6.7 billion.
On the other hand, Turkish steel imports reached around 8 million tons in this
period, an increase of 18% on annual basis, while the import value rose by 35%
to US$6.2 billion.
