Billet
Billet price was almost unchanged during last week in Iran. Average
price of billet size 150 mm was around USD 506 /mt and size 125 about USD 501
/mt ex-work including 9% VAT. Main reason behind this stability was long
products market quiet sentiment and lower billet demand. But producers which
are active in export market would be busy in coming weeks, therefore, DRI and
iron ore pellet demand in coming Iranian New Year would be supported. And This won’t
let billet price drop in near future.
Long
products
Iran domestic long products market was quiet
during last week. Average price of sizes 8-32 mm was USD 552 /mt ex-work
including 9% VAT by last Saturday. Prices became upward but by Wednesday were
down again and reached USD 556 /mt.
Average price of I-beam sizes 14,16,18 was USD 641
/mt ex-work Esfahan including 9% VAT by last Saturday and reached USD 647 /mt
by end of the week. By Tuesday last week, Esfahan Steel co sold 10,000 mt of
its I-beam at base price of USD 577 /mt ex-work excluding VAT at IME which
would be USD 629 /mt after VAT. Low profit margin would force Esfahan Steel co
to increase its prices in coming weeks.
Flat Products
Imported HRC 2 mm thickness was USD 647 /mt on truck in Anzali including
9% VAT and custom duties by last Saturday. As Mobarakeh Steel co slab price
rose, affected positively on HRC market too.
In domestic market, Mobarakeh Steel co HRC products experienced
some fluctuations. Average price of thicknesses 2.5-15 mm started the week at
USD 615.5 /mt , rose to USD 627 /mr by Monday and dropped to USD 622 /mt
ex-work including VAT by end of the week, still higher than week beginning. But
demand level was still low.
Oxin co HRP started the week at USD 624/mt ex-work excluding 9%
VAT, after rising slab price, it improved to USD 625 /mt but demand level was
low. Kavian co HRP was almost stable at around USD 607.5-608 /mt.
CRC market was quiet with average price at USD 744/mt by Saturday
which decreased a little to USD 741 /mt by Wednesday mainly due to lower
seasonal demand. Import offers were also unchanged at USD 590/mt cfr Iranian
ports which has almost no profit for importers. Imported CRC demand has
declined currently due to ex-rate fluctuations.
