Iron ore price negotiations - Morgan Stanley goes to 60pct hike- 06 Mar 10

Morgan Stanley analysts said that benchmark iron ore prices may rise 60% this year on strong Asian demand and as BHP Billiton Ltd. pushes steelmakers to accept pricing pegged to higher spot levels

The analysts including Mr Craig Campbell and Mr Peter Richardson said in a note that cash prices for iron ore may average USD 127 per tonne this year.

Benchmark contracts were settled at about USD 61 per tonne for Australian ore last year.
