Billet
Billet market started week 04th upward.
Average price of size 150 mm was USD 438 /mt ex-work including 9% VAT by
Saturday, then reached USD 448.5 /mt till Monday and by end of the week dropped
by around USD 4/mt. Size 125 mm was USD 429/mt by beginning of the week, then
rose to USD 444/mt and finally end the week USD 4/mt lower.
Higher sale of long products mainly due to higher
ex-rate made billet price upward by beginning of the week. But as long products
market became calm, billet demand declined and price fluctuations stopped.
Khouzestan Steel co sold 35,000 tones of
its billet in export market during last week for March shipment at USD510/mt
FOB. This contract would be a base for other sales of the
mill. Iranian DRI export offers is around USD 290-295/mt FOB Bandar
Abbass in jumbo bags. DRI export has made domestic supply possibility almost
nothing. Domestic market was faced with significant supply shortage of DRI
during last week but there are some hopes about increasing supply capacities
which would help domestic market. But at the moment domestic market should
justify itself with the current situation.
Long products
Debar price started rising by beginning of last week as average
price of debar sizes 14-32 mm was USD 500 /mt ex-work including VAT for Roohina
Steel co material and USD 524 /mt for Esfahan Steel co one. I-beam price was by
average USD 608 /mt ex-work Esfahan including 9% VAT for sizes 14-18. By
ex-rate fluctuations, prices started rising. Export market opportunities has made
some mills prefer offering in export market rather than satisfying domestic
needs.
By end of the week, average price of Roohina Steel co debar sizes
14-25 mm reached USD 503/mt and Esfahan Steel co product was USD 532/mt. I-beam
price also reached USD 615/mt ex-work including VAT.
Flat Products
Imported HRC 2 mm thickness experienced some ups and
downs during last week in Iran due to ex-rate fluctuations as domestic market
was quiet and demand was limited. Imported HRC 2 mm thickness was USD 602 /mt
on truck in Anzali including 9% VAT and custom duty on last Saturday, it
reached USD 617 /mt on Tuesday and USD 610.5/mt on Wednesday.
For thickness 3 mm and higher prices started rising
by last Saturday around USD 4-13 /mt. By Sunday, suppliers stopped offering. By
Wednesday market became calm and prices were higher than Saturday by around USD
11 /mt. Some sizes especially lower than 15 mm dropped by USD 4/mt till end of
the week.
HRP market of Kavian and Oxin steel
co was in limited supply. Thickness 25 mm, width 1.5 m from Kavian co is not
available in the market. Besides by beginning of the week Oxin co 20-50 mm
thickness HRP was also in supply shortage which helped its price rise.
At the moment Iran HRC market is
not facing with good demand, export level has also declined compared to a year
ago, therefore production level should become in balance with demand.
CRC market experienced some rises
as sellers stopped offering by last Sunday which made price up by USD 22-28
/mt. By end of the week market became quiet and prices didn’t change significantly.
Generally, demand is still limited and ex-rate fluctuations have made prices
upward.
HDG market followed CRC price trend
and rose by USD 26/mt but its supply and demand level didn’t change
significantly.
