Tribune reported that Khorasan Steel Company set a record in monthly direct
reduced iron production, as it produced 128,029 tonnes of the steelmaking
material in the 10th month of the current fiscal year (Dec. 22, 2017-Jan. 20).
The head of the company’s direct reduction plant said that “The northeastern
Khorasan Razavi Province-based steelmaker’s previous output record was 127,128
tonnes registered in August 2013.”
The company’s public relations also quoted Farshid Fazilati as saying. Khorasan
Steel Company was established in 1989 by the giant Japanese steelmaker Kobe
Steel in the northeastern part of Nishapur County in Khorasan Razavi Province.
The complex has a capacity to produce 550,000 tonnes of structural steel,
630,000 tonnes of billets and 1.6 million tonnes of direct-reduced iron per
year.
