Toyota Motor is trying to negotiate with Nippon Steel and the other steelmakers in Japan to cut the auto sheet prices by 30 percent. This price deduct is for the contracts commencing from April 2009.
This movement is dur to the decline in auto sales across the world along with the requirement to lower the costs. It is expected that a reduction of 30 percent can bring the average sheet prices to around US$774 per ton.It would be braced for tough talks. Source:Yieh.com
