It is reported that 20 major mine and mine industries Projects valuing IRR 3,100 billion will be put into operation by the end of 2009.
Mr Ahmad Ali Haratinik head of executive board of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization said at his visit to Jalal Abad Iron Ore Plan that “At present 8 plans out of the total are ready to be inaugurated.”
He said that “Investment on development of capacities is the top priority of this organization and so it has exploited IRR 4,500 billion projects during the last 4 years.
Mr Ali Haratinik said that 20 exploitable plans to those projects by the end of 2009, IMIDRO’s investments on mine and mine industries projects will reach to IRR 7,600 billion since 1384 by the end of 2009.
He said that steel production capacity of the country will jump by the end of 1392. He added that Iran will need more than 50 million tonnes of iron ore by that time and to prevent iron ore imports there should be more serious attempts in execution of iron ore production plans.
