It is reported that, because of the weak demand, Japan’s four biggest mills are seeking to expand production cut and cancel or put off the deliveries of raw material.
As per repot, Nippon Steel decides to expand the reduction in the next half of year by 2 to 2.2 million tonnes. But they have not decided whether to close the furnace or not.
JFE Steel also said that the reduction amount will be expanded from 1.5 million tonnes to 2 million tonnes, but denied they will close down the furnaces in Kurashiki. Kobe Steel expands the reduction from 200,000 tonnes to 600,000 tonnes.
