Recently, Europe hikes its export price of scrap steel to above USD 310 per tonne to Turkey.
As reported by Mysteel, Tosyali from Turkey imported H1& H2 Mixture (80:20) and shredded scrap with a price of USD 313 per tonne CFR and USD 318 per tonne CFR respectively from the UK.
While, Erdemir purchased H1& H2 Mixture (80:20) with a higher offer of USD 320 per tonne CFR from Europe and Habas imported HMS 1&2 with USD 305 per tonne CFR.
In the meantime, due to the sluggish steel export to Middle East, electronic furnace steelmakers have to slash their output, leading to a gloomy scrap purchase. In total, Turkey has imported 9.75 million tonnes scrap steel during January to August 2009 period, down by 28% YoY.
