Taiwan’s billet export price goes down in line with dropping scrap price.
Taiwan originally was able to keep the price at US$485/ton to Southeastern Asia but Southeastern Asian buyers decreases the purchasing price recently due to consecutive depreciation of scrap price.
Taiwan’s mills are facing a difficult situation because Vietnam currently bids US$465/ton for billet which is equal NT$14,100~14,200/ton and is US$300/ton lower than Taiwan’s domestic price.
