Khaleej Times reported that the International Tube Association has cautioned that the impact of the global economic crisis on the Gulf tube and pipe industry should not be underestimated, but also added that the effect would be short term.
International Tube Association also said that the expected fast recovery would be due to the fact that the global demand for energy, infrastructure development, construction projects, water and air conditioning supply and automobiles will continue to grow.
Mr Phillip Knight executive secretary of ITA said that the industry associations have an important part to play in helping members to ride out the storm with practical tips whether in exhibiting, presenting technical papers, taking advantage of cost effective networking opportunities or using the association’s extensive media facilities for marketing and promotion.
