Platts
dropped its assessment of northwest European hot rolled coil by €1.50/mt on
Wednesday to €405/metric ton ex-works Ruhr.
A number of traders in the Benelux put the market at €400-405/mt but some
German sources put the level at €410/mt. A French service centre said he had
bought at below €400/mt but this was for a large volume order.
Russian and Chinese offers for HRC were heard at €375-380/mt CIF Antwerp but
buyers preferred to book from local sources to avoid the lengthy lead-times.
