According to data released by the American
Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US’s crude steel output totaled 1.707
million short tons in the week ended on April 25th, increasing by 3.1% from a
week ago while down by 7.3% in comparison of the figures in the same week in
2014.
In the given period of time, the capability utilization of the US steelmakers
averaged at 72.4%, lower than 77% from the same period of a year ago.
Crude steel output totaled 28.128 million short tons in this year ended on
April 25th.
