Tehran Times reported that crude steel production in Iran in the 4 month period ending July 22nd surpassed 3.686 million tonnes showing a 9% increase compared to the same period in 2008.
Fars News Agency quoted an Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization report as saying that in the month of Tir an overall volume of 882,000 tonnes and 672,000 tonnes of crude steel and steel products were produced, showing 15% and 2% compared to 2008.
IMIDRO comprises eight major companies and some 55 operational subsidiaries active in steel, aluminum, copper, cement and mineral exploitation.
