According to data released
by Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Brazil
exported 14.7 million tons of iron ore to China in August, down by 12% year on
year.
The average export prices were at US$60.77/ton FOB, falling from US$78.75/ton
from the same month a year ago. The export values generated by iron ore totaled
US$897 million, plunging by 32% on the yearly basis.
Besides, the shipments of iron ore went to Japan totaled 2.45 million tons,
down by 6% compared to the same months a year earlier.
