The construction of Savadkooh coking plant in Iran officially got underway with a ground breaking ceremony on July 23rd attended by Mr Ali-Akbar Mehrabian minister of industries and mines of Iran.
With a planned annual capacity of 300,000 tonnes, the new plant will be constructed with an investment of IRR 1,000 billion on a 30 month schedule.
Savadkooh coking plant, which is being built by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and
Renovation Organization, is located near Savadkooh city in the northern Iranian province of Mazandaran.
In addition, a coal washing plant will be built simultaneously beside the new coking plant with an investment of IRR 100 billion.
Iran’s current coke making capacity is about 1.2 million tonne per year.
