The 3rd Power, Steel & Housing Exhibition and Conference this year will hold at the Abuja International Conference Centre, Nigeria, from 26-28 August, 2014.
This event with the theme “The new face of Power Infrastructure, Steel and Housing in Nigeria” is aimed at creating an enabling environment for major stakeholders to synergize on Challenges, Opportunities, Development and Technology in the Power, Steel and Housing sectors of the economy.
The trade show is coming at a time the Nigerian economy has grown to be the biggest economy in Africa and the 26th in ranking in the World economic index, with a Gross Domestic Product growth at 75.58 percent (now USD 510 Billion) and still growing at an impressive rate of 7.7% annually. In addition, the Federal Government in Nigeria has now created a more conducive business environment by putting in place policies in industry and investment aimed at the effective implementation of the Nigeria Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP) and the National Enterprise Development Programme (NEDEP) initiatives.
These policies will definitely benefit the Power, Steel and Housing Sectors. The Nigerian Housing Sector, for instance will grow tremendously now with the coming of the Federal Government new housing policy powered by the private sector, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mortgage Banking Association of Nigeria (MBAN) and the World Bank, using the Nigeria Mortgage Refining Company as a window. This initiative is expected to create massive business opportunities in the Housing Sector with the aim of providing 75,000 homes per annum and generate close to 500,000 jobs.
The Power, Steel & Housing Exhibition and Conference, running side by side this year with the Upstream and Downstream oil and gas event is expected to be declared open by President Goodluck Jonathan and will gather Industry Leaders, Thinkers, Investors and Governments in Nigeria and West Africa to collaborate on issues and technologies in relation to policies and development as well as presenting an opportunity for our great country to showcase its strength and opportunities in achieving growth.
