As reported by IMIDRO, German Near and Middle East Association, one of the oldest and biggest associations in Germany working on business relations in Middle East, is ready to increase its activities in Iran mining industry. One of the association's members, Werner Schoeltzke , during his visit in Iran, said that German companies were also affected by the sanctions against Iran.
He said that the Association is ready to increase cooperation with Iranians for the projects in Aluminum, copper, steel industries, etc. They are ready to work on new projects in Iran as international sanctions against Iran had prevented them from catching new opportunities and put them in a hard situation.
German Near and Middle east Association which is the oldest and biggest non-governmental association in Germany regarding business relation with Near and Middle east, has been established on 1934 with its members from big German companies working in different Industries and investment companies. This Association has also close relations with German Government Authorities, so it has a high operational power too.
The association representative also indicated that relations with Iranians had not been completely stopped and they were working on projects at Al-Mahdi Aluminum Co during previous 2 years.
He was optimistic about elimination of sanctions in 2014 and hopeful about more cooperation with Iranians.
