The X-th Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Scrap Metals International Forum

Moscow, Renaissance Monarch Centre (Marriott Group)

Organizer: Rusmet

Supported by: National Self-Regulatory Organization of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Scrap Metal Recyclers & Vehicle Recyclers, National Research Technological University MISiS.

Brief Description

Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Scrap Metals Forum is the largest in Europe. The event annually gathers over 400 delegates from 30 countries: executives and owners of the business, heads of scrap yards, experts and analysts, government authorities and politicians. Industries: metallurgy, scrap collecting and recycling, metal raw materials, recycling equipment, logistics.

Problematics

The situation in the market is dramatic. These are the worst times since 1993. Not all scrap collectors are sure they will survive coming winter. Half-alive are Russian scrap consumers, half-alive is the largest international buyer of scrap metal, Turkey. There is going to be no improvement of the situation in the near future. This is the background for the new act “On production and consumption wastes” which will introduce recycling fees for all goods in Russia since May 1, 2014. And since January 1, 2015 the membership in self-regulatory organization is going to be compulsory.

Mission

To adopt scrap recycling development program till 2030 and provide effective networking for the delegates.

Aims

1.    To discuss perspectives of Russia in the international steel scrap and raw materials’ markets.

2.    Marginal Export-Import: to set the quantities for scrap exports which are not challenging for raw material safety of Russia.

3.    To broadcast the “voice of a man crying in desert” about the prices on land to those who make decisions at the steel mills.

4.    To find solutions for joint survival for scrap recyclers and scrap consumers.
