Due to the global economic recession, three Russian-owned steel mills in Canada have decided to close down temporarily.
These three mills owned by Russian Novolipetsk steel, include: Severstal North American, Evraz Rocky Mountain Steel and Beta Steel.
As we know, Severstal will stop its furnace until 15th of January 2009. Evraz will idle its wire production plants until the end of this year. Beta hascut 110 employees from its hot rolled plant’s 250 employees. Then, from December till January 2009, the Beta plant will close down.Source:Yieh.com
