Russia's Severstal continues to offer September rolling of coils. Despite limited supply of the material allocated for export, the seller has failed to keep prices at the level of early August due to slack demand in foreign markets.
Prices for HRC to buyers from Africa and Latin America have dropped by $10-15/t over the past two weeks, to $690-695/t FOB St. Petersburg, while offers to European customers have decreased by EUR 5-10/t to EUR 490-495/t ($710/t at the exchange rate EUR 1 = $1.44) FOB St. Petersburg. At the same time, the supplier has not cut prices to Iranian buyers as it is not interested in sales to this country due to tough competition with other Russian producers. As previously reported, Severstal has set nominal prices to Iran at EUR 525/t ($756/t) FOB Astrakhan.
The supply of CRC allocated for export remains minimal. Some deals for small batches of the material (some 1,000-2,000 t) have reportedly been made with buyers from Northern Europe at EUR 570/t ($820/t) FOB St. Petersburg.
( Source: www.metalexpert-group.com )
