According to the Iron and Steel Statistics Bureau (ISSB), the global iron ore exports in 2008 increased by 7 percent to 888.5 million tons.
Australia exported 308.9 million tons, which is the biggest iron ore export country; followed by Brazil at 281.7 million tons, increasing by 5 percent compared with the last year. And the exports of Australia, Brazil and India increased to 691.3 million tons, accounting 77 percent of global total export.
Some analysts suggested that influenced by the drop of steel demand and economic crisis, the global iron ore output and export this year will be lower than last year. Source:Yieh.com
