According to report of Reuters, China’s steel mills are facing the impact of power shortage in this summer; however, it may not reduce the supply of steel, said China Iron & Steel Association (CISA).
As many Chinese steel mills generate its own electricity, the power limitation policy in summer may not affect the production. For those affected, the mill will take the opportunity to overhaul their facility.
An official from Baosteel told the press, the company may start overhauls on their cold rolling facility during the summer; however, there was no intention to cut production from blast furnaces.
